Husarska’s CEO, Jadwiga Husarska, took part in Expo Osaka 2025 as an ambassador of the Strumber® material featured in the Polish Pavilion. This engagement reflects our studio’s long-term commitment to advancing sustainable material innovation. Strumber®, co-developed by our team for Green Lanes, is also a key material used in our proprietary furniture brand, Re-Hemptation.
Jadwiga Husarska, CEO of Husarska Design Studio, participated in this year’s Expo Osaka 2025, representing the Strumber material on behalf of Green Lanes – the company responsible for the material’s development and promotion. Although the Husarska Design Studio itself was not formally exhibiting at the event, Jadwiga’s active presence demonstrated the strategic engagement of design leadership in global sustainability dialogues.
Strumber is an innovative composite board material based on agricultural by-products, developed to support a circular economy in sectors such as architecture, interiors, hospitality, and product design. Its unique performance, eco-profile, and aesthetic versatility have positioned it as a credible alternative to MDF and plywood in environmentally-conscious industries.
During the Expo, Jadwiga Husarska led a series of one-on-one meetings and attended key events within the Polish Pavilion, including discussions with design and construction stakeholders from Japan, Korea, and the Gulf Region. The meetings explored the integration of sustainable materials in interior design, public facilities, and commercial architecture, emphasizing functionality, modularity, and lifecycle thinking.
A particular highlight was the growing interest in Re-Hemptation — the proprietary furniture brand developed by Husarska Design Studio — which already incorporates Strumber as its core material. The collection received attention as an example of how design thinking, responsible sourcing, and market awareness can come together to create a commercial and ecological impact.
The engagement in Osaka also revealed strong synergies between Polish design and Asian markets, where material innovation and eco-certifications are becoming integral to procurement standards. Through the exposure and sample distribution at Expo, the Strumber team initiated pilot project talks with several manufacturing and design partners, who expressed concrete interest in testing the board in hospitality and modular applications.
Jadwiga Husarska’s participation underscored the role of experienced designers as strategic facilitators of innovation — not only within their own studios, but across multi-stakeholder ventures aiming to scale sustainable solutions.
The Osaka engagement marked another step in expanding Poland’s sustainable design footprint through strategic partnerships and creative leadership.
If you are a company, public institution, or private brand interested in incorporating Strumber or exploring design solutions around sustainable materials, our team at Husarska is open to collaboration and co-creation.
